Greetings,

The 2017 Restoring Joy Award recognizes nurses who add JOY to the work environment. Nurses from a variety of organizations were nominated for this award. Through this process, I hope to promote a focus on Joy in the work environment. Research recognizes the benefits of Joy in the workplace and its link to patient safety and satisfaction. Enjoyment is the spark that ignites passion and enthusiasm. Joy is about recognizing that you are not how you feel. Joy is a state of the heart, an attitude of the mind and a condition of the will. The 2017 Restoring Joy Award winners are intentional in their efforts to add JOY to the work environment. In spite of the whirlwind, these nurses manage to brighten their environment with the light of a joyful heart! Award recipients will be featured on the Restoring Joy to Leadership website in the near future as well as other media avenues. Award recipients receive complimentary registration to the 2017 Restore Joy Now conference as a way to promote strength for their continued journey.

Good evening Dr. Rivers, and Dr. M. Sherman, I was so surprised to know that I was consider for your Restortibg Joy Award. I am only returning some of the Joy rhat the Lird God gices to me. I believe that, and the word of God says that the Joy of the Lord is ny strength. Working with people and raising children requires the love if God. There is no way you can be effective and take proper care of anyone or anything without joy and God in your heart. I can not and will not take a chance on losing God ‘s love or blessing.

Special thanks to Dr. Myra Sherman who nominated me for the Restoring Joy Award, and to rhe committed for their considerate. I tell people alk the time that God himself made me a nurse. That there is nothing that I have done. The one thing that I remember asking God for in my life. That is to keep me with my Joy. This is where my Strength comes from the Lord. Taking care of others is apart of my Joy and without Joy i can’t give the the proper care they need, without Joy we are unable to look past the wrong and see the Good that’s in others or ourselves. So asking God said Lean not to your Own understanding, Trust in the Lord with My whole heart mind body and soul . This is where My Joy comes from. AGAIN I THANK YOU AND THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
